He rebuilt the Gaslamp and west of Broadway from the hotbed of heroin and harlotry to revitalization and rejuvenation. He made it into the beautiful and booming downtown we have today that is being emulated across the country. I'm glad that those like Mike Aguirre and others have crossed partisan lines and believe in clean and proud city that can pull itself up and not debase itself to corruption and chaos.
